Driving translation workflow efficiencies through measurable quality

Presented by: Sandra Labrasca, Director Solutions Development

Clients tell us that one of their key challenges is lengthy translation turnaround times and product lifecycles. This surrounds not only translation itself, but also the challenges around having the translations validated. It is challenging to reduce translation turnaround times, while guaranteeing a quality deliverable and meeting corporate and/or regulatory requirements for validating translations. One approach, which has worked consistently for our clients, is implementation of measured quality. This approach has allowed for dramatic reductions in translation turnaround time, increase in throughput, and reduction in product nonconformities.
The case study and presentation will demonstrate how to:

  • Determine project quality requirements and thresholds, and measurements against these requirements.
  • Define and implement measured quality levels, allowing for process streamlining.
  • Moving quality steps upstream of the process to eliminate costly rework at critical times.
  • Eliminate the headaches in-country review causes, through reduction or elimination of traditional in-country review. Measured quality is used in its place, ensuring that translation validation needs are met.
  • Quantify the results of this approach for one of our clients – what it meant for them both in terms of dollars saved but also in turn-around times (which in turns translated into more financial gains).
