Keynote – Terminology Management - Making Heads or Tails of

Presented by: Barbara Inge Karsch

From the freelancer to the language service provider to the manufacturer of a product or service—each one shares in the responsibility of creating, using, and researching user-focused terms and names. Terms are the most important carriers of information. End-users, e.g. medical patients or car mechanics, rely on correct and understandable information. This information must also come at an affordable price. Terminology management skills, practices and tools help move this information efficiently from the research facility or lab, where it might have been created, to writers, editors, and freelance translators.
